You can't think of Star Wars without the Mos Eisley Cantina. Learn how the narrative team on 'Star Wars: Jedi Survivor' brought Pyloon's Saloon to life, generating hundreds of state-based interactions for its diverse cast of evolving NPCs.

Cheyenne and Cole give an overview of the cantina's experiential goals, then dive into the processes that took each character from ideation to implementation. They cover the various approaches Respawn used to apportion narrative content across characters and game states, their diverse casting processes, their character & story breaking techniques, their content pipeline, and more -- all using examples from the game.

Attendees will leave with a framework for approaching storytelling through NPCs in an evolving narrative space. This talk will focus on the philosophies, techniques, and tools that Respawn Entertainment used to fill 'Jedi: Survivor's' cantina with compelling plot- and tone-consistent narrative content across its dozens of NPCs and game states.

Intended Audience

This presentation is intended for game narrative professionals and anyone interested in how the narrative team on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor approached the writing & implementation of its main hub, Pyloon's Saloon.
