This session will explore the integration of Real World Economy (RWE) principles into a long running global MMORPG, MapleStory, to enrich the player experience. Keith Kim, Head of Strategy at MapleStory Universe, will go over the journey of merging in-game economies with real-world economic behaviours that can cultivate MMORPG ecosystems to ultimately enhance player engagement. Keith will provide insight into the complexities of weaving economic realism into the game world, illustrating MapleStory Universe's pioneering strategies for a sustainable in-game economy.


Attendees will learn about the intricate process of incorporating real-world economic models into MMORPGs, as demonstrated by MapleStory Universe's PC game, MapleStory N. Keith will offer practical examples, highlighting the game's advancements in economic simulation and player immersion.
